Hello Kitty Inspired Makeup

Click picture for a closer look

I decided to do Hello Kitty inspired eye makeup today! As we know, Hello Kitty's 4 colours are pink, yellow, black and white. Here's how I did it:
  1. Start with a dark pink shadow on the eyelid and onto the crease
  2. Add a bright yellow to the inner part of the eyelid and near the tear duct
  3. Use a glittery white for the rest of the eye going up to the eyebrow
  4. Curl your eyelashes
  5. And finally use black mascara for your top lashes!
I was going to do eyeliner for the black but decided you'd see the mascara better without it.  I think it looks more like her whiskers this way too!

So there you go, a very fast Hello Kitty inspired look :D

My New Bracelet

I got this last week, for about £2.99 I think (from ebay). Very stylish! What do you think?

Why is it looking at itself in a mirror though? I do not know. That's just how it posed for me when I took it's photo.

My Hello Kitty Notebook

Okay, I may actually categorize this as more kawaii than style...but then again, look at her little black dress! That's stylish enough :D

Site of the Day - Bombshells.com

This is a wonderful site that I used to go to a lot (they don't update much nowadays). But it is amazing for finding out more info on your favourite actresses from old Hollywood. They have some of the most beautiful photos of any site and I love the "Recommended" section, where you'll find all sorts of interesting books, movies and music.

Song of the Day - Khalil Fong - Black and White

Okay, this one is in Mandarin, but for those of you who can't understand it you can still watch the video which is very stylish. You won't regret it :)

Dawn by Sarah Jessica Parker

I chose this as my first post/review, mainly because I bought it myself last week.

First off, I'll let you in on a little secret, I set out to buy a new perfume about 3-4 weeks ago but didn't know which I wanted. So I went to ebay and bought a lot of perfume samples...and I mean a lot! Each day I tested a new sample and wrote a mini review in the back of one of my notebooks. I found two perfumes that I liked best and "Dawn" was one of them.

It's from Sarah Jessica's "Lovely Collection" and it really is lovely. I think I've worn it just about everyday since I bought the full size version. I actually tested all 3 of her "Lovely" perfumes and "Dawn" was by far my favourite. Very much a daytime fragrance.

Not only do I love the scent but the bottle is so beautiful, I love the old timey perfume lid. Also the ink drawings on the box and back of bottle are very much my type of thing!

Oh and it's blue! The liquid is blue! I thought this was very cool as it's rare to see a perfume for women that's blue.

Welcome to Laura D's Style Blog

Welcome to my brand new blog! This shall be dedicated to all things of "style". My other blog (Laura D McBryde) will still be updated as normal so don't worry, that one is always there for jokes, funniness and stupidness.

Now back to this blog. I'll post videos, photos, etc, here that I find to be stylish. I'll also be reviewing various things.

Style to me can be embodied by many things; perfume, music, clothes, people, objects, just about anything.

And I'd like to make one thing clear before we start, this site is not about fashion. Fashion to me, asks that you show no emotion, whereas style encourages you to embrace emotion. (And of course I have left out that fashion is superficial, all about fads, cold and generally taken part in by very annoying people. Okay, that's off my chest now.)

First post (after this introductory one) will be very soon. I appreciate all comments and feedback, so please get in contact with me :D
